Job summary

Clark James Insurance Recruitment is seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Account Handler/Underwriter for a busy schemes division in Croydon. The role is hybrid, with 2 days per week in the Croydon office, and involves managing client renewals, terms, and documentation.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in commercial insurance, experience as an underwriter or account handler, and a working knowledge of Acturis.

Qualifications

• Experience as an underwriter/account handler with commercial products – minimum 2 years.
• Acturis knowledge preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

COMMERCIAL INSURANCE ACCOUNT HANDLER

Location: Croydon

Hybrid working.

Clark James Insurance recruitment are seeking an experienced Insurance Account Handler/Underwriter for a busy Commercial Insurance Schemes division. This is an ideal role for someone who has experience of handling Commercial insurance products, Delegated Authorities or with Underwriting experience ideally including Commercial Combined and Fleet.

You will need to report into the Croydon office 2 days a week.

Role And Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving client retention targets by providing an excellent level of service.
• Liaise effectively with the Account Executive to ensure an appropriate strategy for renewal, attend client meetings as necessary and action meeting points.
• Undertake market exercise to establish most competitive terms available.
• Obtain renewal terms and present to client.
• Process adjustments in line with procedures, including notification to insurers, issue of revised documentation, and collection of additional premium.
• Ensure premiums are collected prior to the commencement of cover.
• Record all relevant information, correspondence and documentation on Acturis and make effective use of the diary system.

Experience You MUST Have

• Experience as an underwriter or account handler with commercial products – preferably a minimum of 2yrs.
• A knowledge of Acturis is preferred but not essential.
