Ipsum is seeking a Commercial Graduate in Chorley to support commercial strategy and operations within Water & Infrastructure. You will gain hands-on exposure to contract management, tendering, and commercial decision-making from day one, helping shape project success.

You will build your commercial acumen while working with experienced professionals on real projects, developing across multiple business areas and contributing to timely, accurate information flow.

About the role

As a Commercial Graduate, you ll step into a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you ll build a strong foundation in commercial strategy and operations. Working within our Water & Infrastructure business, you ll support experienced professionals on real projects from day one gaining hands-on exposure to contract management, tendering, and commercial decision-making. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your commercial acumen, broaden your experience across multiple business areas, and play a key role in shaping the success of our projects.

As a Commercial Graduate you will

• Run weekly and monthly reports, assist with data analysis, and maintain internal databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• Support operations and finance teams with purchase orders and billing input into client systems, while ensuring invoices are raised correctly.
• Manage subcontractor onboarding by issuing PQQ questionnaires, facilitating their return for internal checks, and ensuring proper setup on internal systems.
• Hold review meetings with planners and project managers to assess WIP (Work in Progress), provide reports on outstanding items, and help resolve related queries.
• Chase payment approvals once processed and reconcile monthly remittances to maintain financial accuracy.
• Ensure all data is correctly inputted across systems and support the smooth flow of commercial information.

About you

You re a recent graduate in Business Management, Mathematics, Economics, or Quantity Surveying, ready to kick-start your career in a fast-paced commercial environment. With strong verbal and numerical reasoning, you re confident working with data, interpreting insights, and supporting decision-making. You re highly organised, detail-focused, and thrive under pressure able to plan, prioritise, and meet tight deadlines. Comfortable with Microsoft Office and IT systems, you re also a natural relationship-builder who enjoys working in a customer-focused setting.
