Job summary

Ipsum is seeking a Commercial Graduate to join our Water & Infrastructure team in Folkestone on a full-time, on-site basis. You will support contract management, tendering, and commercial decision-making while gaining hands-on exposure on real projects from day one.

As a graduate, you will develop your commercial acumen across multiple business areas, work with data, and contribute to the success of our projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate in Business Management, Mathematics, Economics, or Quantity Surveying.
• Strong verbal and numerical reasoning.
• Ability to analyse data and support decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Run weekly and monthly reports and maintain internal databases.
• Assist with purchase orders and billing input into client systems, ensure invoices are raised correctly.
• Manage subcontractor onboarding by issuing PQQ questionnaires and system setup.
• Hold review meetings with planners and project managers to assess WIP and resolve queries.
• Chase payment approvals and reconcile monthly remittances.

About the role

As a Commercial Graduate, you ll step into a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you ll build a strong foundation in commercial strategy and operations. Working within our Water & Infrastructure business, you ll support experienced professionals on real projects from day one gaining hands‑on exposure to contract management, tendering, and commercial decision-making. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your commercial acumen, broaden your experience across multiple business areas, and play a key role in shaping the success of our projects.

As a Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will

• Run weekly and monthly reports, assist with data analysis, and maintain internal databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• Support operations and finance teams with purchase orders and billing input into client systems, while ensuring invoices are raised correctly.
• Manage subcontractor onboarding by issuing PQQ questionnaires, facilitating their return for internal checks, and ensuring proper setup on internal systems.
• Hold review meetings with planners and project managers to assess WIP (Work in Progress), provide reports on outstanding items, and help resolve related queries.
• Chase payment approvals once processed and reconcile monthly remittances to maintain financial accuracy.
• Ensure all data is correctly inputted across systems and support the smooth flow of commercial information.

About you

?You re a recent graduate in Business Management, Mathematics, Economics, or Quantity Surveying, ready to kick-start your career in a fast‑paced commercial environment. With strong verbal and numerical reasoning, you re confident working with data, interpreting insights, and supporting decision-making. You re highly organised, detail-focused, and thrive under pressure able to plan, prioritise, and meet tight deadlines. Comfortable with Microsoft Office and IT systems, you re also a natural relationship-builder who enjoys working in a customer‑focused setting.
