Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Gas Engineer to deliver planned, reactive and remedial maintenance across a diverse estate, supporting heating, ventilation, water hygiene, sanitary and drainage systems. This hands-on role offers working on a range of mechanical systems and contributes to national capability and readiness.

Based at Minley, near Blackwater, Hampshire, the role runs Monday-Thursday 8:00–16:30 and Friday 8:00–16:00 (40 hours/week) with an on-call rota after six months.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial gas systems and boilers.
• Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and statutory compliance checks on gas and mechanical systems.
• Support mechanical asset replacement projects, upgrades and refurbishment activities.
• Repair, service and fault-find on commercial boilers and associated equipment.
• Maintain stock levels and inventory for mechanical maintenance activities.
• Undertake plumbing maintenance and repairs as required across the estate.
