Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join a well-established M&E services contractor serving London and the Home Counties. The role focuses on maintaining a wide range of commercial plant room appliances with a balance of planned maintenance and reactive repairs, including a relatively light call-out load.

The candidate must hold ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications, valid Commercial Gas Tickets and have at least five years of experience, with preferred exposure

Qualifications

• ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications (COCN1, CODNC01, CIGA1, CORT1) required.
• Valid Commercial Gas Tickets.
• At least five years’ experience as a Commercial/Combustion Gas Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a wide range of commercial plant room appliances.
• Split of planned maintenance and reactive repair work.
• Support a call-out rota (currently a low number of call-outs).

Commercial Gas Engineer Role

Commercial Gas Engineer required for our client; they are a well‑known M&E Services Contractor who has been in business for over 50 years. They have clients based throughout London and the Home Counties and are currently looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join the team.

The role involves maintaining a wide range of commercial plant room appliances, with responsibilities split between planned maintenance and reactive repair work. Although the company provides a call‑out service, the number of call‑outs is currently relatively low.

Requirements include holding ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications (COCN1 or CODNC01, CIGA1, CORT1), valid Commercial Gas Tickets, and at least five years’ experience as a Commercial/Combustion Gas Engineer.

Preferred skills and experience: previous experience on steam, oil, and LPG; a time‑served apprenticeship; UK driving licence; based inside the M25.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary £52,000 – £60,000 per annum
• 45 hour week with paid lunch hour
• Overtime 1.5x & 2x – currently average £10,000 – £20,000 per year
• Company van with optional personal use
• 1–8 call‑out rota
• Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
• 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
• 4% pension contribution
