Job summary

Global Facilities Management Organisation in the Midlands is seeking a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to cover Birmingham and the surrounding region on a permanent basis. You will service, maintain and repair commercial boilers and gas systems across a varied portfolio, working across multiple sites with on‑call duty.

Salary £40,000–£45,000 per annum, van and fuel card provided, 25 days leave plus bank holidays, a generous pension, and training plus progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer in FM/building services.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repair of commercial boilers.
• Maintenance of gas fired radiant heaters and water heaters.
• Fault finding and maintenance of control valves across sites.
• Occasional work on domestic boilers as needed.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs across schools, offices and facilities.
• Carrying out inspections and ensuring gas systems operate safely.

Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer - Birmingham & the Midlands Region – Global Facilities Management Organisation: Commercial & Public Sector

Are you an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer looking for a mobile role across the Midlands? CBW Staffing Solutions have a fantastic opportunity to join a leading facilities management organisation on a permanent basis, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial contracts.

Package

• Salary between £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• Van & fuel card supplied
• Core hours are Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
• Participation in an ‘out of hours’ on call rota (1 in every 7 weeks)

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repair of commercial boilers
• Working on associated commercial gas equipment
• Maintenance of gas fired radiant heaters
• Servicing water heaters
• Fault finding and maintenance of control valves
• Occasional work on domestic boilers
• Carrying out inspections, testing and ensuring all gas systems operate safely and efficiently
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs across a variety of commercial sites including schools, office buildings and specialist facilities

Requirements

• Essential gas qualifications: COCN1, CODNCO1, CIGA1/CDGA1, ICPN1, CPA1, BMP1 and CCP1 (CCN1 and CENWAT are beneficial)
• Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer within a facilities management or building services environment
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience on commercial gas systems
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to travel across Birmingham, the East and West Midlands and Stoke (Engineers are expected to contribute up to one hour travel each way)
• Must be able to pass an Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists check
