Job summary

Morgan McKinley (South West) is seeking a commercially minded Assistant Finance Manager who turns financial data into meaningful business decisions. This part-qualified role offers a path to develop commercial finance and business partnering experience within a complex operational environment.

You’ll work with operational and senior leaders, providing financial insight to support performance while helping to develop robust finance processes.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or actively studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
• Experience in Management Accounting, Commercial Finance or Finance Business Partnering.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into insights.
• Confident communication and presentation to non-finance stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel and data handling with large datasets.
• Experience identifying process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight for better business decisions.
• Support preparation and presentation of financial performance, risks and opportunities to leadership teams.
• Track KPIs and translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Analyze data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by developing clear processes, controls and decision frameworks.
• Assist with month-end reporting, management accounts and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to deliver timely, accurate financial information.
