Job summary

Marc Daniels is recruiting a Finance Manager for its UK operation in Nottingham. This hands-on role sits in the UK leadership team and reports to the Group Financial Controller with a dotted line to the UK Managing Director.

You will own the UK finance function, manage monthly closes, statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and drive improvements across finance processes to support profitable growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in finance within an operational manufacturing or distribution environment.
• ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or qualified by experience.
• All-round finance leader able to own numbers end-to-end in multi-site setup.
• Commercial mindset, able to challenge the status quo with non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and UK management accounts.
• Lead statutory reporting, VAT, corporation tax and packaging compliance (Plastic Packaging Tax and EPR).
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Own product costing, stock accounting and cost allocation.
• Partner with sales, operations and the management team on pricing, customer profitability, business cases and investment decisions.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and credit control.
• Oversee AP and AR, and support payroll, IT and fleet activities.
• Lead and develop one direct report.
• Drive process and systems improvements across finance.

Finance Manager Up to 80,000 + benefits Permanent Full time, on site

Marc Daniels is working with a well established international manufacturer to recruit a Finance Manager for their UK business in Nottingham.

This is a key, hands-on role within the UK leadership team. You will run the UK finance function day to day, reporting to the Group Financial Controller with a dotted line to the UK Managing Director, and play a real part in driving profitable growth.

The role

• Own the monthly close and produce the UK management accounts
• Lead statutory reporting, the external audit, VAT, corporation tax and packaging compliance (Plastic Packaging Tax and EPR)
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
• Own product costing, stock accounting and cost allocation
• Partner with sales, operations and the management team on pricing, customer profitability, business cases and investment decisions
• Manage cash flow, working capital and credit control
• Oversee AP and AR, and support payroll, IT and fleet activities
• Lead and develop one direct report
• Drive process and systems improvements across finance

About you

• 5+ years in finance within an operational business: manufacturing, FMCG, distribution, logistics or similar
• Qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or qualified by experience
• A true all-rounder, comfortable owning the numbers end to end in a small, multi-site environment
• Commercially minded, confident working with non-finance colleagues and happy to challenge the status quo
• Experience of product costing and stock would be a real advantage
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI experience is desirable but not essential
