Job summary

Scrutton Bland, part of Sumer Group, is seeking a Commercial Finance Business Development Lead in Ipswich to establish and grow the commercial finance offering within the hub.

You will identify opportunities across the East Anglia market, build strong relationships with partners and managers across Scrutton Bland, and help clients secure the funding they need to achieve their ambitions, shaping a new service line in a growing group.

Qualifications

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven experience in commercial finance, banking, or related advisory roles.
• Commercially minded with a track record of turning opportunities into revenue.
• Confident presenting to internal and external audiences.
• Self-driven and proactive with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong organisational skills and pipeline management experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with partners/managers to identify and progress commercial finance opportunities.
• Use client data to proactively identify businesses needing funding support.
• Engage with clients to understand needs and advise on funding solutions.
• Deliver internal sessions to raise awareness and improve opportunity identification.
• Represent Sumer at external events to raise the profile of the offering.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations for internal and external audiences.
