Job summary
The Commercial Finance Business Partner will play a crucialrole in driving the financial and strategic growth of the organisation byoverseeing financial planning and operations while supporting the developmentof new business opportunities. Main duties of the job
You will lead on all aspects of financial reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for operations, working closely with service leads on monthly management accounts, financial performance reports, and variance analysis. You will identify and deliver in-year financial efficiencies that ensure value for money and long-term sustainability. Responsible for quarterly financial returns to local authority customers, you will ensure submissions are accurate, timely, and aligned with contractual pricing schedules, while maintaining compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and financial regulations. You will manage funding or investment decisions, support year-end processes, and liaise with external auditors. Your role will also involve monitoring service budgets through financial modelling and performance analysis, collaborating across functions to enhance operational efficiency. Youll assist in developing and implementing financial and operational policies, and work alongside HR, IT, and Procurement to streamline financial processes. In addition, you will partner with the Business Development team to assess the financial viability of new projects, bids, and contracts, developing and managing financial models, conducting commercial analysis and risk assessments, and reviewing contracts to support growth. You will contribute strategic insight into market trends, support pricing strategies, and help build business cases for new service opportunities.

Commercially astute with a strategic mindset,proactive approach and good understanding of commercial contracts.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills;experience with accounting systems.
