Job summary

Flight Centre in London is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to partner with the Global CTO and leadership, turning financial data into actionable insights that shape technology investment and performance.

You will own budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the Commercial Software teams, develop models, dashboards, and business cases, and drive cost optimisation across SaaS and development projects.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 3+ years PQE.
• Experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A or business partnering roles.
• Experience in Commercial Software, Product, Engineering teams, or senior technology leaders.
• Strong Excel, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Power BI or BI reporting experience preferred.
• Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Global CTO and leadership as the primary finance contact, translating financial information into actionable business insights.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the Commercial Software teams.
• Deliver month-end reporting, variance analysis, and commentary on actual versus budget and forecast performance.
• Monitor and report on key software commercial KPIs, including headcount, cloud spend, SaaS licensing, and project profitability.
• Develop financial models, investment appraisals, and business cases to support strategic decision-making.
• Support capital expenditure and operating expenditure classification and development cost capitalisation activities.
• Constructively challenge cost and investment decisions to maximise business value and returns.
• Improve reporting processes, data quality, and operational efficiency through BI tools and best practices.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and commercial support for initiatives, contracts, and pricing decisions.

Experience & Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• 3+ years PQE.
• Proven experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, or business partnering roles.
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
• Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
• Strong financial modelling capability.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical capability.
• Experience supporting Commercial Software, Product, Engineering teams, or senior technology leaders.
• Understanding of development cost capitalisation and SaaS revenue/cost metrics.
• Experience in a technology or SaaS business preferred.
• Power BI or similar BI/reporting tool experience preferred.
• Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT.
