Job summary

MacGregor Black and a Retail Business partner are seeking an experienced Commercial Estates Manager to oversee a national property portfolio, with a base in London. The role focuses on strategic and operational estate management across retail and residential properties within the UK.

You will lead lease negotiations, rent reviews and capital projects, ensuring statutory compliance and sustainability. Strong leadership and a track record in property law and asset management are essential.

Qualifications

• Senior level experience in estates or property management, preferably retail-led.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and residential property law, leases, planning and asset management.
• Excellent negotiation, budgeting and project management skills.
• RICS qualification or equivalent is desirable.

Are you comfortable managing large estates spread across the UK?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a Retail Business on the search for a Commercial Estates Manager. This is a perm role based in London.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the strategic and operational management of a diverse national property portfolio.
• Lead on property acquisitions, disposals, lease negotiations, renewals, and rent reviews.
• Manage capital investment programmes, refurbishments, and maintenance planning across retail and residential properties.
• Ensure full compliance with all relevant property legislation, health and safety, and sustainability requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, agents, local authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead a small in-house team and manage third-party consultants and contractors.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in estates or property management at a senior level, preferably in a retail-led environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial and residential property law, leases, planning, and asset management.
• Excellent negotiation, budgeting, and project management skills.
• RICS qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Would suit a chartered surveyor but not essential.

Salary is up to £70k + benefits.
