Job summary

Instacom Controls is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrician to install electrical infrastructure supporting Building Management Systems on UK commercial and industrial projects. You will work on plant rooms, energy centres and a range of facilities across the UK.

Role involves travel to customer sites, some weeks away, with OH&S standards high and opportunities to pursue specialist BMS training and career progression to Lead Electrician, Supervisor or Site Manager as we expand.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• AM2 Qualification.
• ECS Gold Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Commercial or industrial electrical installation experience.
• Good understanding of BS7671.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical infrastructure that supports Building Management Systems on UK commercial and industrial projects.
• Carry out HVAC and control wiring, cable containment and installation.
• Install and terminate BMS control panels and wiring for sensors/actuators.
• Read electrical drawings and schematics; perform inspection, testing and fault finding.
• Maintain high standards of safety and workmanship.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK; some weeks away.

Role overview

You will install the electrical infrastructure that supports Building Management Systems on a wide range of commercial and industrial projects across the UK.

Typical work includes:

• Commercial electrical installations within plant rooms and energy centres
• HVAC and control wiring
• Cable containment and cable installation
• Installing and terminating BMS control panels
• Wiring sensors, actuators and associated equipment
• Reading electrical drawings and schematics
• Inspection, testing and fault finding
• Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship

This role involves travelling to customer sites across the UK and will occasionally require working away during the week.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
• AM2 Qualification
• ECS Gold Card
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Commercial or industrial electrical installation experience
• Good understanding of BS7671

Desirable:

• Previous BMS experience
• HVAC or plant room installations
• Trend, Siemens, Schneider, Tridium or Honeywell systems
• IPAF
• PASMA
• SSSTS or SMSTS
