Job summary

Intrepid Global is seeking an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to join our commercial waste collection team. You will safely operate Class 2 vehicles, perform daily checks, and deliver a professional service at customer sites.

Role requires a valid Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and Tachograph card, with good knowledge of UK roads. You will follow procedures, handle paperwork and work as part of a transport team in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence must be held.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good knowledge of UK roads and driving regulations.
• Previous HGV driving experience preferred.
• Physically capable of working in a waste collection environment.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 2 HGV waste collection vehicles.
• Carry out scheduled commercial waste collections and deliveries.
• Collect and transport general, recyclable and other commercial waste following procedures.
• Operate vehicle-mounted equipment and waste-loading systems where required.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report defects or maintenance issues.

• Follow designated routes and collection schedules.
• Complete paperwork and waste documentation accurately.
• Maintain professional conduct with customers and the public.
• Follow health, environmental and waste-management regulations.
• Keep the vehicle clean, tidy and roadworthy.
• Report accidents or issues promptly.
• Work with loaders, supervisors and transport team.
