Commercial Director- Social-led Media and Agency Business

Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days in office)

Overview

A leading media and creative agency group is seeking a forward-thinking Commercial Director to lead commercial strategy, drive new business growth, and build a high-performing revenue team across agency services and strategic partnerships.

This is a rare opportunity to join a values-led, socially-native business with a unique commercial model that combines influencer marketing, content creation, and partnerships at scale. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in developing go-to-market strategies as well as engaging with senior stakeholders in the boardroom.

The Role

You will lead and grow the sales and marketing functions, identify new revenue opportunities, and enhance commercial performance across two main verticals: social/influencer agency services and strategic brand partnerships.

This senior, hands-on role requires a deep understanding of social media — not just platform knowledge but a strategic grasp of how social integrates into broader brand and marketing objectives. Experience in scaling teams, developing product-market fit, and creating winning pitches is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end commercial strategy for both agency and partnership streams
  • Support product development and go-to-market strategies — defining offerings, target audiences, and approaches
  • Collaborate with leadership to achieve ambitious recurring revenue goals
  • Build and manage a high-performing, cross-functional sales, strategy, and marketing team
  • Develop new business pipelines to support growth objectives
  • Partner with marketing to shape go-to-market strategies and campaign narratives
  • Identify and evolve revenue streams in influencer/social agency services and strategic brand partnerships
  • Represent the company at client meetings and industry events

  • Proven experience in senior commercial, business development, or growth roles within media, digital, or creative agencies
  • Strong expertise in social media — platforms, content formats, influencer marketing, algorithms, and cultural trends
