Commercial Director - Social-led Media and Agency Business

Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days in office)

Overview

A leading media and creative agency group is seeking a forward-thinking Commercial Director to lead commercial strategy, drive new business growth, and build a high-performing revenue engine across agency services and strategic partnerships.

This is a unique opportunity to join a values-led, socially-native business with a commercial model that combines influencer marketing, content creation, and partnerships at scale. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in both strategic planning and high-level stakeholder engagement.

The Role

You will lead and grow the sales and marketing functions, identify new revenue opportunities, and enhance commercial performance across social/influencer agency services and strategic brand partnerships.

This senior, hands-on role requires deep expertise in social media—not only platform knowledge but also strategic understanding of social’s role in broader brand and marketing objectives. Experience in scaling teams, developing product-market fit, and creating winning pitches is essential.

We seek a commercially minded, strategic individual with a passion for storytelling, innovation, and results in a fast-moving creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end commercial strategy for agency and partnership streams
  • Support product development and go-to-market strategies
  • Collaborate with leadership to achieve revenue goals
  • Build and manage a high-performing cross-functional team
  • Develop new business pipelines for growth
  • Partner with marketing on go-to-market strategies and campaigns
  • Identify and evolve revenue streams in social/influencer services and brand partnerships
  • Represent the company in client meetings and industry events

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial or growth role within media, digital, or creative agencies
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, content formats, influencer marketing, and trends
  • Ability to align social strategies with broader brand objectives
  • Track record of scaling revenue and teams
  • Strategic thinker with creative flair—excellent at building frameworks and pitches
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable in high-growth environments
