Job summary

Executive Network Legal Limited in Norwich is seeking a Commercial, Data, or IP Solicitor with 5+ PQE. You will advise on commercial contracts, technology agreements, IP matters and data protection, developing strong client relationships and growing the firm's market presence.

You will work with an established client base, supported by a network of referrals, and play a key role in business development and mentoring junior lawyers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years PQE advisory experience in commercial contracts, technology, IP and/or data protection.
• Excellent technical skills and strong commercial awareness.
• Mentoring and development of junior lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow the commercial, technology, IP and data protection practice.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will work with a broad range of clients, from ambitious growth businesses to established organisations, advising on complex and high-value commercial, technology, intellectual property and data protection matters. You will be supported by an established client base, strong referral networks across the firm, and a partnership committed to investing in growth, innovation, and long-term service.

The successful candidate will help strengthen the firm's presence in the market, develop relationships across the local business community, and establish themselves as a trusted advisor to clients. Along with this, some of your duties will include:

• Developing and growing the commercial, technology, intellectual property and data protection practice.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, referrers, and key stakeholders.
• Identifying, securing, and developing new business opportunities and revenue streams.
• Raising the profile of the firms through networking, speaking engagements, and participation in business community events.
• Advising clients on a broad range of commercial contracts, technology agreements, intellectual property matters, and data protection law.
• Leading on complex and strategically important client matters, delivering pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across offices and practice groups to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers and helping to foster a positive and collaborative team culture.

THE CANDIDATE

Applications are welcomed from those with at least 5 years of experience advising on commercial contracts, technology, intellectual property and/or data protection matters. The firm is looking for someone who:

• Has excellent technical skills and strong commercial awareness.
• Demonstrates a track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Has a genuine enthusiasm for business development and practice growth.
• Is confident building relationships with clients, referrers, and professional contracts.
• Is proactive, self-motivated, and commercially minded.
• Has excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Has the ability to mentor and support the development of junior Solicitors.

For Partner applications, an existing client following or a demonstrable track record of originating work would be advantageous. For Legal Directors and Senior Associates, the firm is looking for individuals with the ambition, capacity, and commercial drive to build a successful practice and progress their careers within the firm.
