Atomic Weapons Establishment is seeking a Commercial Data Analytics Manager in Reading. The role combines strategic and operational management of commercial data across AWE to drive data-driven commercial decisions in third-party spend and overall Commercial performance.

You will report to the Principal Commercial Performance, Insights & Reporting Manager and lead a team responsible for data access, quality, and lifecycle across systems, enabling timely insights for decision makers.

Qualifications

• Must have proven professional experience.
• Experience in a Procurement / Commercial function.
• Experience in data operations and/or commercial analytics.
• Proven experience in managing large datasets, data transformation and business intelligence tools.
• Natural analytical thinker.
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical insights into business language.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Commercial teams have access to timely, accurate and relevant data to meet performance and strategic objectives.
• Accountable for master data management of all commercial data, ensuring accuracy across systems.
• Accountable for managing the data lifecycle, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
• Accountable for data protocols, data cleansing and data maintenance to ensure usable data for Commercial colleagues.
• Liaison between Commercial, IT, Finance and other teams to align data strategy with business requirements.
• Management of the Commercial Data Team.

Job description

Commercial Data Analytics Manager.

Package: £47,760 to £60k (depending on experience)

Location: Reading, with free onsite parking.

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day.

This role is eligible for hybrid working, meaning employees typically spend three days on site in a long week and two days on site in a short week.

The Commercial Data Analytics Manager leads the strategic and operational management of commercial data across AWE. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy, availability and actionable use of data to drive effective commercial decision-making within the Commercial team on all matters relating to third party spend incurred by AWE.

This role will report into the Principal Commercial Performance, Insights & Reporting Manager.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensures Commercial teams have access to timely, accurate and relevant data to meet performance and strategic objectives.
• Accountable for master data management of all commercial data, ensuring accuracy, consistency and integrity across systems used by the Commercial function.
• Accountable for managing the data lifecycle, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
• Accountable for data protocols, data cleansing and data maintenance to ensure usable data is made available to Commercial colleagues.
• Accountable for liaison between Commercial, IT, Finance and other relevant teams in AWE to align data strategy with business requirements.
• Accountable for the management of the Commercial Data Team.

Experience and Qualifications

• Compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Must have proven professional experience.
• Experience of working in a Procurement / Commercial function
• Experience in data operations and/or commercial analytics
• Proven experience in managing large datasets, data transformation and business intelligence tools.
• A natural analytical thinker.
• Proficient in SQL, Excel and visualisation platforms (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical insights into business language.
• Detail oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Important Things You Need to Know

You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
