Commercial Counsel — Global Energy Tech

Job summary

SSQ, a fast-growing energy tech business headquartered in London, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join a close-knit legal team. You will draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, support corporate governance and M&A, and advise on data protection and privacy.

This role offers broad international exposure across UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia and South America, with senior stakeholders and multi-jurisdictional external counsel.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 3-6 years’ PQE.
• Training at a US or City law firm, ideally in a commercial or corporate team.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Proactive, hands-on self-starter capable of working independently.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including wholesale and sales agreements.
• Support on corporate advisory, governance and M&A.
• Review and advise on risk in supplier contracts and SaaS agreements.
• Draft and negotiate NDAs.
• Support and advise Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Customer Care teams.
• Manage consultancy agreements and provide employment legal support.
• Advise on privacy and data protection matters.
• Manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Deliver company training and support compliance through policies and legal updates.
• Assist with corporate matters including board and shareholder resolutions and company secretarial work.
