Job summary

Insignis is seeking a full-time Commercial Contracts Specialist to lead contract management for a portfolio within Property Services. You will mobilise contracts, manage delivery and performance, implement changes, and handle risk throughout the contract lifecycle.

The role requires expert SRM, end-to-end lifecycle knowledge, and strong communication as you liaise with finance, health and safety, and procurement.

Qualifications

• Expert understanding of contract management and SRM across full lifecycle.
• Experience in end-to-end commercial lifecycle management.
• Ability to plan, track and forecast income and expenditure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Property Services contracting database.
• Oversee a portfolio of live contracts across Property Services.
• Manage contract changes, notices, extensions and innovations.
• Coordinate contract documents sign-off with Procurement Team.
• Provide commercial guidance and liaise with external legal advice.
• Oversee payment assessments, supplier performance and audits.
• Ensure KPIs are met and provide performance feedback.
• Represent the commercial team in monthly contractor review meetings (>£5m).
• Collaborate with finance, health and safety, and procurement on compliance.
• Be single point of contact for portfolio leads on commercial issues.

Job description

A client of mine is a large Housing Association is looking for a full time permanent Commercial Contracts Specialist on a full time permanent basis.

In this role, you will enhance commercial excellence within your department by leading contract management activities for several complex, high-value, strategic, and operational contracts. You are expected to leverage your commercial expertise to mobilise contracts, manage their delivery and performance, implement contract changes, and handle risk management within the contracts. Additionally, you will oversee contract transitions and exits.

Key Accountabilities

• To own and maintain the Property Services contracting database
• Responsible for oversight and monitoring of the implementation of a portfolio of live contracts across Property Services.
• Responsible for managing and communicating all contract changes, and control notices, instigated through contract negotiation, performance, change requests, contract extensions, and contract innovation.
• Coordination of the contractual documentation sign-off process with the Procurement Team
• Provide commercial advice and guidance on contractual matters, referring to and co-ordinating external legal advice where required.
• Oversee payment assessments, and supplier performance, and conduct supplier audits.
• Ensure adherence to contract KPIs and deliver regular performance feedback.
• Represent the commercial team at monthly review meetings with all contractors (strategic and important partners) where we spend more than £5m over the life of the contract.
• Work with other key stakeholders to ensure smooth contract transitions and adherence to commercial and legal standards during the contract lifecycle.
• Liaison with other key subject matter experts across the business, i.e. finance, health and safety, and procurement, to ensure compliance with the contractual and commercial obligations.
• Be a central point of contact for all operational portfolio leads, about any commercial or contractual issues

What we're looking for

• Expert understanding of contract management and supplier relationship management (SRM) and the principles of end-to-end commercial lifecycle management
• Experience in the compilation of contracts, contractual design, and contract legal framework
• Experience in enacting contract change control processes
• Experience in managing the contract lifecycle with a supply chain
• Significant experience in the commercial contracting and subcontracting field
• Ability to plan, track, and forecast income and expenditure against relevant budgets, to deliver a value-for-money service whilst taking actions to mitigate any risks
• Ability to analyse business information and formulate metrics that drive improvements
• Good Communicator, both written and verbal
• High Level of Microsoft Office Skills
