Commercial / Contract Manager – Defence (NEC/JCT)

As a key Tier 1 supplier of Commercial and Cost Management, and Procurement services within the Defence sector, we play a crucial role in supporting the UK's Defence and ensuring our clients achieve optimal outcomes.

We seek skilled Commercial and Contract Managers interested in working within the UK Defence Sector to join our growing Defence Team.

This role offers flexibility, with approximately 60% of work time at a client site near regional offices.

The ideal candidate will have extensive and varied experience in commercial and contract management within the Defence Sector (or similar regulated sectors), and a desire to contribute to a high-performing team delivering world-class outcomes.

Job Objectives:

1. Provide specialist advice on NEC3/NEC4 and/or JCT contract frameworks to public and private sector Defence clients.
2. Manage NEC3/NEC4/JCT contracts, including research, data collection, and benchmarking.
3. Develop and implement effective NEC contract management processes throughout projects.
4. Monitor, document, and report on contract progress and performance indicators, preferably using Contract Management Software such as CEMAR.
5. Manage change control processes in line with NEC/JCT requirements, including tracking, documenting changes, and negotiating contractual adjustments.
6. Prepare communication materials and formal reports focused on NEC/JCT contract administration.
7. Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and designers, within the NEC/JCT framework.
8. Possess proven procurement experience within defence, construction, or infrastructure industries, including sourcing in both sole source and competitive markets.
9. Have in-depth knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and/or JCT contract frameworks.
10. Understand UK Government procurement processes, such as QDC, DSPCR, and PCR.
11. Hold or be working towards a relevant qualification in Commercial Management, Business, Law, or Project Management, such as CIPS.
12. Obtain and maintain necessary security clearance; be a sole British citizen residing in the UK.
