Job summary

Get Staff is seeking a Commercial Chiller Engineer (Field Based) to cover the South East England, with a home/field-based setup and access to the Andover or Rochester depots. Salary £47,000-£52,000 plus overtime.

You'll install, service, repair and maintain temporary chiller units at customer sites, attend installations and breakdowns, and assist with boiler installations during winter. The role offers a varied workload and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with commercial chiller equipment.
• F-Gas certification and driving licence required.
• CSCS card and field-based installation/maintenance experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

Commercial Chiller Engineer (Field Based) - Company Overview:

Our client is an established name in temporary plant hire, providing specialist heating and cooling solutions to commercial and industrial customers across the UK. They are looking for an experienced Chiller Engineer to join their service team, working on the installation, servicing, repair and maintenance of temporary chiller equipment across the South East.

This is a home/field-based position, with engineers able to work from either the Andover or Rochester depot, depending on location. The role offers a varied workload, regular overtime and the opportunity to work with specialist commercial cooling equipment.

Commercial Chiller Engineer (Field Based) - The Role:

This is a hands-on field service role involving the installation, servicing, repair and maintenance of temporary chiller units at customer sites. You'll attend planned installations and service visits as well as responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and getting equipment back into service as quickly as possible.

You’ll also assist with boiler installations during the winter season and install AC units when required. The role involves practical problem-solving on customer sites, adapting to different equipment, site conditions and customer requirements.

When you're not attending field-based jobs, you'll work with the depot team to maintain van stock, order parts and ensure the equipment and stores are ready for upcoming work.

There is also scope to contribute to the development of new products and improvements to service operations, while maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance at all times.

Commercial Chiller Engineer (Field Based) - What You'll Bring:

• You'll ideally have at least 3 years' experience working on commercial chillers and hold a current F-Gas qualification, together with a full UK driving licence and CSCS card.
• You’ll need strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, good communication and organisational abilities, and the confidence to work independently at customer sites. A methodical approach, good IT skills and up-to-date knowledge of health and safety requirements are also important.
• You’ll be flexible, reliable and customer-focused, with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider service team.
• Previous experience in the HVAC hire industry, an electrical qualification, or MOD clearance and site experience would be advantageous but are not essential.
