Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a senior data analytics leader to guide the UK data commercial team and partner with Commercial, Sales, Marketing and Energy Markets. You will combine hands-on data work with strong leadership to drive insights that shape our commercial decisions.

You will oversee a high-performing team, own strategic analytics, and enable pricing operations and KPI-driven dashboards across the business. This is a pivotal role within our data platform ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience as a manager of a high-performing data team.
• Hands-on expertise with modern data platforms and analytical tools (SQL and Python).
• Passion for hands-on data work and leading teams to deliver insights.
• Strong communication skills to influence non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Strong commercial acumen, preferably in pricing, margin optimisation, or growth analytics.
• Track record of delivering actionable insights that drive business impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead UK team: set priorities, coordinate and review work of a high-performing team.
• Strategic analytics: use data to inform UK and global strategy for leadership.
• Pricing operations: enable swift price changes while ensuring good deals and regulatory compliance.
• Metrics: define KPIs and dashboards to track business performance across functions.
• Global cooperation: coordinate data teams supporting Octopus’ global operations.
