Job summary

A leading ice cream brand is seeking a Commercial Analyst to drive performance through data insights. Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing business.
  • CIMA part qualified and working towards (preferable).
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience using Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver weekly and monthly sales performance reports.
  • Analyse cost variances to support supplier negotiations.
  • Create and manage commercial costings for new product developments.

ROLE:

As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a COMMERCIAL ANALYST with strong commercial acumen and a sharp analytical mind to help drive performance across the business.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll be a key player in turning data into insight – helping us make smarter, faster, and more profitable decisions. This is a rare opportunity to gain broad exposure in a fast-growing food brand, work closely with senior leadership, and make a real impact on business outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

//Sales & Forecast Reporting - Deliver weekly and monthly sales performance reports, comparing actuals to forecast across products, depots, and customer channels. Provide actionable insights to support production planning and sales strategy.

// Cost & Margin Management - Analyse raw material, packaging, and labour cost variances to support supplier negotiations and margin protection. Maintain live costing models for existing and new SKUs.

// Commercial Pricing & Tenders - Create and manage commercial costings for new product developments and customer tenders. Support retenders and CPI negotiations by reviewing actual performance against planned cost structures.

// Commercial support for National Accounts Team – support with tenders, customer reviews, onboarding tasks and performance management

// Customer & Range Profitability - Evaluate customer-specific profitability, support pricing strategies, and identify swap or de-costing opportunities to maintain margin across the product range.

// Operational & Financial Support - Monitor capex vs. budget, stock write-offs, and payroll-related production hours. Provide regular insight to ensure alignment between finance, operations, and commercial teams.

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

// 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing business

// CIMA part qualified and working towards (preferable)

// Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience using Power BI

// Excellent attention to detail, proactive and a mindset to continuously improve

// Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present insights to non-financial stakeholders

// Able to demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines successfully

// Confident & self-motivated

// A people person - and a team player

// Must love ice cream!

WHAT’S ON OFFER:

// Office based role (Leeds city centre)

// Annual salary of £30,000 to £40,000 dependent on qualifications and experience

// 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
