Page Personnel in the United Kingdom seeks a Commercial Accountant to lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. You will partner with departmental managers to shape robust financial plans and monitor performance against budgets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process with departmental managers.
• Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts; provide variance analysis and actions.
• Support cash-flow forecasting and working capital analysis.
• Provide analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Analyse costs, margins and profitability and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Support pricing and profitability analysis including product cost bases.
• Provide analysis on capital investment, stock purchasing and financing decisions.
• Prepare management reporting with key trends and drivers for senior management.
• Play a key Finance role in ERP implementation, including UAT, data migration and training.
• Collaborate across Finance and the wider business to drive process improvements.

This client is a fast-growing UK e-commerce business in the South West.

Job Description

• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with departmental managers to develop robust financial plans.
• Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and identifying key risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
• Support cash-flow forecasting and working capital analysis, ensuring forecasts accurately reflect expected business performance.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making across the business.
• Analyse key costs, margins and profitability, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and strengthen commercial performance.
• Support pricing and profitability analysis, including reviewing the full product cost base, realised margins and areas of margin erosion.
• Provide analysis around capital investment, stock purchasing and financing decisions, helping optimise stock levels and cash utilisation.
• Prepare accurate and timely management reporting, highlighting key trends, performance drivers, risks and opportunities for senior management.
• Play a key Finance role in the ERP implementation, supporting UAT, data migration, reconciliation, training and ongoing system/process improvements.
• Work collaboratively across Finance and the wider business, providing cross-functional support, financial insight and process improvements to strengthen overall Finance capability.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Commercial Accountant should have:

• Qualified ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by experience.
• Strong management accounting experience, including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to turn financial data into clear, practical insight.
• Confident managing stakeholders across different departments and comfortable constructively challenging where needed.
• Personable and approachable, with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
