Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a proactive Management Accountant in Gloucestershire to manage day-to-day financials within a busy FMCG environment.

You will prepare monthly accounts (P&L, balance sheet, accruals), support month-end close, deliver reporting packs with insights, engage with operations and SAP, and assist year-end audits.

Strong Excel skills and ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualifications are essential to drive accurate reporting and business partnering.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification required.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent Excel proficiency with SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and journals.
• Support month-end close and timely financial reporting.
• Produce monthly packs with commentary on performance, variances, risks and opportunities.
• Analyse performance vs budget/forecast/year and identify key business drivers.
• Partner with operations and supply chain, providing insight for decisions.
• Present financial results at site reviews and operational meetings.
• Support CAPEX evaluation and approvals.
• Maintain control account reconciliations and fixed asset register.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting.
• Develop trainee staff and act as SAP key user for the finance team.

• Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Produce monthly reporting packs with commentary on performance, variances, risks and opportunities.
• Analyse performance against budget, forecast and prior year, identifying key business drivers.
• Partner with operational and supply chain teams, providing insight and challenge to support decision-making.
• Present financial results at site reviews and operational meetings.
• Support the CAPEX approval process, ensuring sound financial evaluation of investment proposals.
• Maintain control account reconciliations and the fixed asset register.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting.
• Support the development of trainee finance staff and act as SAP key user for the finance team.

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Commercially minded, with strong analytical skills and the ability to turn financial data into meaningful business insight.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems such as SAP.
• Enthusiastic and proactive, with a genuine desire to support and influence business growth.
• Strong communicator, capable of building relationships across the business and presenting financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Job Offer

• Salary ranging from 50,000 to 55,000, dependent on the level of experience.
