Job summary

TVS SCS in Chorley is seeking a Commercial Accountant to manage the commercial accounting for multiple clients in a busy finance environment. You will provide finance business partnering, reporting and analysis for internal and external purposes, and support the Account Management team in fulfilling contracted services.

The role requires newly qualified CIMA/ACCA or in the final year, strong numerical/analytical skills, and excellent communication to convey financial information to both finance

Qualifications

• Newly qualified CIMA/ACCA or in the final year of studying towards CIMA/ACCA qualifications.
• Experience of working within a busy finance department in a client-focused role.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to present financial information to finance and non-finance professionals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare client information for internal and external reporting, including fees, client statements and weekly reports.
• Prepare monthly management accounts elements for these clients.
• Develop commercial models for forecasts and budgets.
• Collaborate with Account Management and Senior Leadership to deliver contracted services.
• Support audits (quarterly/year-end) and internal controls.

Role: Commercial Accountant

Department: Finance

Location: Chorley

Reporting to: Senior Commercial Accountant

Hours of work: Standard

Contract type: Permanent

Purpose:

This person will be responsible for the commercial accounting of numerous clients within the Smart Metering, Beverage & Automotive industries. They will also provide finance business partnering support, as well as reporting and analysis for internal and external purposes. In addition, they will be expected to provide support to the Account Management team when fulfilling the contracted services for those clients.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the preparation of client information for internal and external reporting purposes, covering the following:
  • Calculation of fees and production of client statements, Preparation of all supporting reports and data, Weekly reporting requirements, Other ad hoc analysis as required
• Preparation of all monthly management accounts elements relating to these clients
• Production of commercial modelling for forecasts and annual budgets
• Working alongside the Account Management teams and Senior Leadership teams in provision of the contracted services
  • Requires detailed knowledge of the client contracts
  • Work closely with Account Manager to remain aware of all activity and ensure all billable work is identified and invoiced
  • Identify opportunities to maximise profitability
  • Attendance at contract review meetings as required
• Supporting quarterly and year end external audits, and internal control audits

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Newly qualified CIMA/ACCA or in the final year of studying towards CIMA/ACCA qualifications
• Experience of working within a busy finance department in a similar role with a client focus
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with high level of attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate & present financial information or issues to both finance & non-finance professionals
