Nelson and Colne College is looking for a Catering Supervisor to join the on-site catering team at the Nelson campus, with potential travel across sites. You will help develop the Refectory offer, oversee food preparation and service, and lead the team to maintain high standards of quality and hygiene.

The role requires GCSEs including Maths and English, an NVQ Level 2 in Catering, strong cooking and stock control skills, and solid IT and customer service abilities. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) Catering qualification
• Strong preparation and cooking skills in a fast-paced catering environment
• Experience of stock control: monitoring levels, ordering supplies, stock availability
• Excellent customer service skills
• Understanding of COSHH and food hygiene requirements
• Competent IT skills
• Suitability to work with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults

Responsabilités

• Work with the Catering Manager to grow the Refectory offer for learners and staff.
• Oversee daily food preparation with high taste, presentation and nutrition.
• Prepare and cook high-quality food; refresh menus reflecting current trends.
• Ensure efficient kitchen service through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations in the Catering Manager's absence.
• Assist with college events and hospitality deliveries.
• Lead the Catering Team in preparation, cooking and service at the Refectory.
