Job summary

Sandwell College is seeking a reliable Service Assistant to join the Cadbury Catering team on a part-time, term-time basis. The role runs 10.15am–2.15pm and reports to the Chef Manager, supporting food preparation, service delivery, cleaning and hospitality events within a busy college catering environment.

You will help maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, handle cash tills as required, and contribute to a welcoming dining area while working as part of a supportive team during

• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, food hygiene and health & safety practices.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and refreshments.
• Support setup and preparation of dining and service areas.
• Serve meals and refreshments in line with college requirements and guidelines.
• Operate cash tills and cashier duties.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and dining areas.
• Assist with washing-up and daily kitchen cleaning duties.
• Support college hospitality and events as required.
• Supervise students in dining areas during lunch periods as required.
• Adhere to food hygiene, health & safety and food safety management systems.
• Attend training and development activities relevant to the role.
