Job summary

Royal Mail in Gloucester is hiring a Collection and Network Driver on a permanent part-time contract. The role covers 20 hours per week, across Monday to Saturday, with shifts from 14:45 to 18:45, supporting mail collection and deliveries in the local area.

You’ll be part of a friendly team, walking outdoors in all weather, handling post and parcels, visiting business customers, and ensuring items reach the processing centres accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Upbeat, independent and self-motivated.
• People-person.
• Happy walking for long periods and going outside in any weather.
• Strong sense of community and take pride in what you do.

Responsibilities

• Deliver items on route including letters and parcels.
• Check post-boxes, visit post offices and collect mail.
• Drop off mail at processing centres and sort mailbags.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery to the right location.

Please note:

For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.

As a Collection Driver, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
