Job summary

Royal Mail Group is seeking a Collection and Network Driver at the Barnstaple Delivery Office to join a permanent team. The role involves delivering and collecting mail across a defined route, including visiting post offices and business customers, with shifts typically in the early evening.

You will be a proactive, outdoors-oriented driver who can work flexibly, adhere to standards, and provide excellent customer service while supporting the wider Royal Mail network.

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Able to walk long periods and work outside in all weather.
• Customer-focused and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels to on-route addresses on time.
• Check post-boxes, collect mail and sort bags.

Hours: 16:15 hours per week, working 5 days across Mon-Fri, working between15:00 and 18:15

Business hours are Mon - Sun, you may be required to work occasional weekends.

Please note:

For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.

As a Collection Driver, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
