Job summary

Royal Mail Group is hiring a Collection and Network Driver for York Delivery Office. The role is fixed-term for 6 months, 20 hours per week across five days, with shifts 13:00–19:00. You will deliver, collect and sort mail, visiting post offices and supporting our delivery network.

Ideal candidates are upbeat, people-oriented and comfortable walking outside in all weather. A UK manual driving licence with up to 6 penalty points is required, plus flexible shifts and a commitment to great service.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Be upbeat, independent and self-motivated.
• Able to walk long periods outdoors in all weather.
• Willingness to work flexible shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect mail on your route as part of a team.
• Sort mail and ensure correct items reach the right place on time.
• Engage with customers and post office staff to support deliveries.

Please note:

For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.

As a Collection Driver, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
