Job Description:

As a highly experienced and strategic internal communications leader, you will partner with senior C-suite stakeholders to support, orchestrate and help govern the internal communications activity within these organisations and how the organisations communicate with colleagues across the wider business. You will help shape the culture and align colleagues with our vision and business goals, while responding to our colleagues’ communication needs and devising the best ways to drive high levels of understanding, connection and engagement.

Outcomes of the Role

  • Together with senior leaders and key stakeholders from the Wealth and COO organisations, help define and own their comprehensive colleague communications strategies to align with strategic goals and values and deliver clear, effective and engaging communication to colleagues within these organisations but also more widely across the business.
  • Deliver content that supports client-facing colleagues with their day-to-day job, including procedural, training, incident management, and technical content, as required.
  • Support the development of a positive brand narrative for key internal audiences, cascading it into key touchpoints in partnership with a range of stakeholders from across the business.
  • Help bring to life our company culture by fostering a strong sense of community and connection, driving positive colleague engagement through the end-to-end production, distribution and amplification of high-impact communications to large colleague audiences.
  • Help to deploy a modern and integrated mix of channels and content formats, including colleague engagement campaigns, internal social in-person and virtual events, and more.
  • Lead on developing and delivering communication plans that support a range of initiatives across the business, including operations, technology, change and transformation workstreams.
  • Act as a trusted communications adviser to the business, supporting the communication needs of senior leaders while nurturing and building relationships on behalf of our team with all the necessary stakeholders.
  • Define, implement and oversee a rigorous planning, production and measurement process for the internal communications activity within your remit.
  • Lead, grow and mentor an in-house team of high-performing colleague communications professionals, championing creativity and collaboration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • A wealth of experience in senior internal communication roles, developing and successfully activating internal communications strategies in large organisations.
  • A strategic thinker with a deep understanding of how internal communications drives business success.
  • A highly KPI-driven approach to internal communications and colleague engagement.
  • Tech-savvy and data-driven, with an ability to activate and measure campaigns factoring in a wide range of channels and formats, including SharePoint as well as modern experiences like social intranets.
  • A solid understanding of and experience in creative production principles, with an ability to visually express content with minimal creative team support (including video and event production).
  • Remarkable storytelling, writing and presentation skills, with considerable experience in crafting compelling narratives.
  • Meticulously organised, very attentive to detail and highly flexible with changing requirements, with a proven ability to balance multiple ongoing campaigns and projects.
  • A proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, with strong experience in conflict management and resolution.
  • Experience in managing and growing high-performing communications professionals.
  • Experience in the Wealth and Asset Management industry, and more broadly in the Financial Services sector (this is an advantage, but is not required).
