Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Operative (Reach Driver) for the Bedford Depot on an AM shift. The role involves replenishment, order assembly, and loading duties in a 4°C environment. A valid Counterbalance or VNA licence is advantageous, with weekend rota and 40-hour weeks.

Salary is structured with performance bands from £13.77 to £18.15 per hour, including a FLT allowance. The depot offers ongoing training, pension, life cover, and employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Numerate and literate with basic mathematical ability.
• Experience in warehousing and distribution environments.
• Ability to work efficiently in a cold and freezer environment; willingness to take the £1.24ph premium.
• Counterbalance and/or VNA forklift licences are preferred.
• Awareness of health and safety in handling stock and palletised goods.

Responsibilities

• Replenish picking fixtures accurately and systematically.
• Label and relabel bulk storage pallets and ensure stock is rotated.
• Move bulk stock from goods-in to correct storage areas.
• Record stock movements in bulk storage systems or manuals.
• Assemble and load customer orders ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Load goods onto cages/pallets and hand over to drivers with proper documentation.
