Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd in Bedford is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join a temperature-controlled environment and support the accurate assembly of customer orders.

The role offers 40 hours per week, with shifts across 4 days in 7 and a £13.14–£17.52 per hour pay scale depending on performance. You'll need numeracy, literacy and previous warehousing experience, plus a Reach forklift licence for a £0.60 per hour premium.

Qualifications

• Warehousing and distribution experience.
• Ability to work efficiently in a cold environment.
• FLT (Reach) licence, earning an extra £0.60ph premium.

Responsibilities

• Accurate assembly of customers' orders
• Picking and loading goods onto cages and pallets in a safe and manageable manner
• Adhering to stock rotational procedures
• Performing accurate and efficient duties within other warehouse functions
• Accurate marking and storage of assembled orders awaiting dispatch
• The accurate loading of customer orders onto company vehicles
• Ensuring that drivers’ run-sheets, documentation and vehicle keys are distributed correctly on completion of loading
• The preparation of vehicles prior to loading
