Job summary

Real Personnel are recruiting for a Trainee Machine Setter/Operator to join a Redditch-based manufacturing company. This hands-on role offers training over 12-18 months with the potential for permanent employment upon successful completion.

Ideal candidates have an engineering qualification and a practical, mechanical mindset, with the ability to learn quickly and work both independently and as part of a team. Hours are day shifts, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 Engineering qualification (apprenticeship preferred).
• Good mechanical knowledge and practical hands-on skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Reliable, motivated and able to work independently or within a team.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set and operate specialist manufacturing machinery.
• Assist with machine tooling, adjustments and maintenance.
• Carry out quality inspections on finished products.
• Identify and resolve basic mechanical issues.
• Work with experienced setters to develop technical skills.
• Gradually take responsibility for multiple machines.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, Friday 8:00am-3:00pm

No previous cold heading experience is required, as full training will be provided over a 12-18 month period.

Duties Include:

• Learning to set and operate specialist manufacturing machinery.
