Job summary

Primary Coding Clubs is seeking a session leader to run coding clubs for children aged 8–11 from our Brackley HQ and across three counties. You will guide up to 20 children through our ready‑to‑use plans, manage equipment, and keep sessions engaging and inclusive.

You must be reliable with strong communication, enjoy working with children, and be prepared to obtain an enhanced DBS check. A clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential as clubs operate across sites.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in a structured setting.
Strong behaviour management with 8–11 year olds.
Reliability— you show up every week and communicate issues early.
Good communication with children, school staff and parents.
Warmth and patience for all children, including those who find it hard.
Belief in giving every child access to coding, not just those with laptops.
Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one before starting.
Clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

Lead weekly coding club sessions for up to 20 children using prepared session plans.
Set up and pack down equipment (iPads, robots, laptops, physical kit).
Manage behaviour, pace and participation to include every child.
Record attendance and track badge/logbook progress.
Be a friendly, professional presence for staff and parents at pick‑up.
Flag kit issues, safeguarding concerns, and any child needing support.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour policies.
