Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts seeks a Listening and Communication Specialist - Speech and Language Therapist. You will assess and manage deafness and communication needs across children and adults, interpret complex audiology information, and contribute to cochlear implant candidacy decisions.

You will deliver specialist interventions, work with education, health and social care partners, and support families with communication strategies and implant use.

Qualifications

• Responsibilities for listening and communication specialist role include assessment, differential diagnosis and management for children and adults with deafness and communication needs.
• Interpret complex audiological information to inform treatment planning and contribute to cochlear implant candidacy decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist interventions and support cochlear implant technology.
• Collaborate with health, education, social care and voluntary sector partners to ensure coordinated care.
• Provide accessible information to patients and families and represent deaf/deafened children in implant-related forums.
• Contribute to clinical governance, CPD, service improvement and policy implementation.
• Support student placements and supervise junior staff and clinical assistants.
