Notpla, a sustainability-focused packaging innovator, is seeking a Coating Process Engineer to transform breakthrough natural materials into scalable coating solutions. You will work across laboratories and pilot facilities, guiding trials, resolving process challenges, and building technical knowledge with material scientists and designers.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Engineering or related field.
• Diverse experience with Paper Coating processes for packaging (extrusion coating, flexo, gravure, etc.)
• Proven track record of developing, improving and troubleshooting manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Drive natural material development projects from early stage trials through scalable solutions.
• Design, execute and analyse coating trials in-house and with external partners.
• Develop and optimise coating processes for packaging applications (extrusion, water-based coatings).
• Troubleshoot process challenges using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Scale processes from laboratory to pilot stage and address scale-up challenges.
• Characterise coating performance through barrier, adhesion and mechanical testing.
