Job summary

Moody's RMS is seeking a scientist with a background in coastal dynamics, oceanography, or coastal engineering to quantify coastal flooding risk. You will build storm surge, wave and coastal defence model components and calibrate results against observed data and benchmarks.

You will advance our models through research and implementation of novel techniques, and you will communicate findings to clients and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with high-performance clusters in UNIX or Linux.
• Experience with numerical models, large data sets, or statistical modelling.
• Strong programming in Python, R, Fortran.
• Strong analytical ability and communicating insights to stakeholders.
• Experience in catastrophe modeling is valued but not required.
• Experience using GitHub or similar code management tools.
• Proficiency in AI concepts with practical AI tool usage.
