JOB ADVERT:

This exciting new post offers a wonderful opportunity to integrate co-production into the fabric of Jimmy's. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing a programme of co-production systems and activities across our client-facing services. This role reflects the Senior Leadership Team's genuine commitment to listening to and incorporating the views of residents at all levels of organizational decision-making. We believe support services work best when users are involved in their design.

Job Description

Post: Co-Production Coordinator

Responsible to: Head of Services

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £31,518

Purpose of the role:

As Co-Production Coordinator, you will champion resident involvement by establishing and maintaining a new resident feedback system. You will ensure residents and ex-residents are heard and valued as experts by experience, empowering them to influence Jimmy’s services. You will create clear channels for resident input into organizational decisions, ensuring their views shape our service design, staffing, policies, and environment. As part of our management team, you will participate in our on-call rota, providing telephone guidance, and arranging emergency cover as needed. The role involves being on call approximately one weekend in five, from 5pm to 8am during weekdays, and 24/7 on weekends.

Working Hours:

The successful candidate will work 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with flexible hours according to Jimmy’s needs. The role is based across our two main sites on East Road and Newmarket Road.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Create and maintain three co-production networks (Physical Environment, Staffing & Support) to ensure resident voices influence decision-making.
  2. Maintain our feedback, comments, and complaints system to ensure concerns are addressed promptly.
  3. Establish and manage an Exit Interview system for residents leaving Jimmy’s.
  4. Develop volunteer opportunities for residents and ex-residents, such as peer mentorship, food prep, and building maintenance, acting as line manager for these volunteers.
  5. Collaborate with our Communications team to share residents' experiences and stories.
  6. Set up and run a Resident Newsletter.
  7. Provide cover for other team leaders during sickness and leave.
  8. Participate in the on-call rota, providing guidance and emergency cover as needed.

General Duties / Responsibilities:

  1. Attend service managers’ meetings and represent Jimmy’s externally.
  2. Engage creatively with residents and ex-residents across sites.
  3. Handle administrative duties related to the role.
  4. Perform other duties as required and adapt to evolving role needs.
  5. Commit to personal development through training and supervision.
  6. Follow Jimmy’s policies and procedures at all times.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience working with 'hard to reach' groups or individuals with complex needs, including homelessness.
  • Understanding of co-production and trauma-informed, relationship-based, person-centred, strength-based practices.
  • Experience engaging creatively with vulnerable adults.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience managing complex situations involving substance misuse, mental health, dual diagnosis, etc.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments calmly and respond effectively in crises.
  • Strong team communication skills and ability to give clear directions.

  • Awareness of professional boundaries.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
