Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting a Coordinator for the Lancashire Safeguarding Business Unit at County Hall, Preston. Hybrid working, 37 hours per week, on a 12-month fixed term contract from 1 November 2026.

The role supports multi-agency safeguarding arrangements across the county. You will coordinate governance and audit activity, analyse data, support safeguarding reviews, and help shape policy and practice across Lancashire.

Qualifications

  • Experience in safeguarding, quality assurance, audits or performance.
  • Understand children's safeguarding practice, policy and statutory duties.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and translate into clear insights.
  • Well organised, self-directed and comfortable in multi-agency settings.
  • Committed to person-centred, strengths-based practice.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate governance and audit activity for the LSBU.
  • Analyse data to inform safeguarding decisions and improvements.
  • Support safeguarding reviews and shaping policy across Lancashire.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and inspection readiness.
  • Collaborate with children''s safeguarding, health, police and local authority colleagues to deliver high-quality safeguarding services.

Job Description Salary £40,777 - £46,142 Per annum |Fixed Term| Full Time - 37 hours per week International Sponsorship - this role is not open to international sponsorship Role: Coordinator, Lancashire Safeguarding Business Unit (LSBU) Location: County Hall, Preston (Hybrid working) Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract from 1 November 2026 - 31st October 2027 Secondments will be considered however approval must have been gained beforehand and evidence submitted with application Supporting the delivery of effective multi-agency safeguarding arrangements As a Coordinator within the LSBU, you'll work alongside passionate professionals across children's safeguarding, health, police, and local authority services. You'll be part of a collaborative, supportive team that values diverse perspectives and is committed to improving outcomes for children and families This role is pivotal in supporting the delivery of the Children's Safeguarding Assurance Partnership (CSAP). You'll coordinate governance and audit activity, analyse data, support the management of safeguarding reviews and help shape policy and practice across Lancashire
