Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Setter to join our busy manufacturing team, producing precision parts for automotive, construction and marine sectors. You will set and operate CNC turning machines, interpret engineering drawings, adjust offsets and tooling, and perform basic programme edits.

Hours: Monday to Thursday; pay £14–£16 per hour for semi-skilled setters, up to £21 per hour for fully capable operators.

Qualifications

• Experience in a CNC turning environment with setting and operation of machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Confident with tool offsets, tooling selection and basic programming edits.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC turning / lathe machines.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Selecting and setting appropriate tooling.
• Adjusting tool offsets and machine settings.
• Carrying out basic CNC programme edits.
• Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment.
• Maintaining quality and production standards.
• Working safely and keeping the work area clean and organised.
• Supporting with saws, drillers, grinders and presses.
