Job summary

The Recruitment Fix Ltd is seeking a skilled CNC Vertical Borer Setter, Operator and Programmer for night shifts in the Ashton-under-Lyne area. You will be responsible for setting, operating and programming Fanuc-controlled CNC vertical boring/lathe machines, interpreting drawings and self-inspecting parts to ensure they meet specifications.

You’ll work four 12-hour nights (Mon-Thu 6pm-6am) on a time-and-a-third shift premium, with an hourly rate of £18-£20 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience setting, operating and programming CNC vertical boring/lathe machines using Fanuc control.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in self-inspection and quality checks.
• Willingness to work night shifts and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and program CNC vertical boring/lathe machines (Fanuc) using Cimco CADCAM or Fusion.
• Interpret drawings to ensure correct fabrication.
• Self-inspect completed parts for dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain clean, safe and organized work area; adhere to health and safety rules.
• Collaborate with team to improve production efficiency and quality.

We need the candidate to have a strong mechanical knowledge. This role requires precision and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for fabricating components and ensuring they meet the required specifications

The Job

About you

• Must have proven experience of setting, operating and programming CNC Vertical boring/lathe machines using the Fanuc control system (This machine also used Cimco CADCam or Fusion software for programming.)
• Be able to work to customer issued drawings and specifications to produce medium to heavy workpieces.
• Have the ability to self-inspect.
• Be willing to work overtime when needed.
