Meridian Business Support Ltd in Tewkesbury is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Setter Operator for a twilight shift. The role involves setting and operating CNC lathes, carrying out tool changes, and reading engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

You’ll be in a modern, well-organised shop floor with opportunities to develop programming skills and progress within a growing company. The position offers a four-day week with 39 hours, regular overtime, and long-term job security.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CNC Turner.
• Ability to complete full CNC lathe set-ups.
• Experience working with engineering drawings and inspection tools.
• Fanuc and Mazatrol experience (training provided where needed).

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC lathes producing precision components.

Having hired two new CNC machinists recently, their progress and integration into the team has been a real success. Now that they're established in their roles, the company have agreed a plan to hire an additional seven CNC Turners to take the company into the next phase in their growth plans.

The Opportunity

We’re recruiting experienced CNC Turner Setter Operators to join a long-established, precision engineering company who have been producing their own premium quality products in Tewkesbury for over 60 years.

These are CNC turning-focused roles working on high-precision components in a modern, clean, well organised and well equipped machine shop. The patented products you’ll be making will go on to make a difference in peoples’ lives in an industry you can be truly proud of being involved in.

Pay & Shifts

Twilight shift

Monday – Thursday, 4 shifts per week,39 hours per week

Salary: To give you an idea, the salary budget for these roles will be around £45,000 to £54,000 per yearbut please do get in touch with your earnings requirements. The broad salary range is to welcome machinistswith a wide range of experienceso ifyou have just a few years under your belt or if you have more skills and experience, we will welcome your application. Salaries are reviewed regularly taking your progression into account and you will have the opportunity to earn a lot more than this.

What you’ll be doing

• Set and operate CNC lathes producing precision-engineered components
• Carry out machine set-ups including tooling selection and program loading
• Work with Fanuc and/or Mazak controls (if you have used different controls before, you will be given all the support and training you need until you’re fully settled in)
• Inspect your own work using verniers, gauges and measuring equipment
• Read and work from engineering drawings to tight tolerances
• Support continuous improvement and develop programming skills over time

What we’re looking for

• Experience as a CNC Turner
• Ability to complete full CNC lathe set-ups
• Experience working with engineering drawings and inspection tools
• The type of control panel you’ve used up until now isn’t important,you'll be using Fanuc and Mazatrol
• Attention to detail and pride in your work
