Job summary

Syntech Recruitment Ltd in Watford, Hertfordshire is seeking a CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join a precision engineering team. You will set and operate Doosan fixed-head CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, delivering high-precision aerospace components in small-to-medium batches.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position with overtime at 1.5x and a strong emphasis on quality and process control. You will work closely with production and engineering teams in a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience setting and operating fixed-head CNC lathes.
• Experience with Doosan CNC lathes would be highly advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Confident carrying out tool changes and adjusting offsets.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating Doosan fixed-head CNC lathes.
• Working with Fanuc controls, including offsets and tool changes.
• Manufacturing intricate components across small-to-medium production batches.
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Producing components to tight aerospace tolerances.
• Working with stainless steel, aluminium, brass, titanium and other specialist materials.
• Completing first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Changing tooling and making adjustments where required.
• Identifying and troubleshooting machining issues.
• Ensuring components are produced accurately and to production schedules.
• Working closely with the wider production and engineering teams.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
