Job summary

MAJORENGINEERING in Hinckley, England is seeking a reliable CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join a busy workshop. You will work on Doosan, Mazak and Fanuc-controlled lathes to manufacture precision components.

The role is full-time and permanent with day or night shifts and overtime at time and a half. Training and long-term progression are available in a clean, modern workshop.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC turning or a similar precision machining role.
• Ability to read and work confidently from engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail with focus on quality.
• Willingness to learn new skills; training provided.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC lathes (e.g., Doosan, Mazak, Fanuc).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Machine components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Carry out program edits and tool offsets where required.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, verniers and other measuring tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and perform basic maintenance.
• Work on a wide range of components and subcontracted projects.

CNC Turner – Hinckley, England

Major Recruitment are looking to hire a reliable and motivated CNC Turner to join our client’s skilled team in Hinckley. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a busy and supportive environment using a variety of modern CNC turning machines.

Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday
Shifts Available:day shift or night shift avaliable
Overtime: Available at x1.5 (after standard hours)

Key Responsibilities

Set and operate CNC lathes (e.g., Doosan, Mazak, Fanuc-controlled equipment).

Read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.

Machine components to tight tolerances and quality standards.

Carry out program edits and tool offsets where required.

Inspect finished parts using micrometers, verniers, and other standard measuring equipment.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment and perform basic machine maintenance.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in CNC turning or a similar precision machining role preferred.

Ability to read and work confidently from engineering drawings.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work.

Willingness to learn new skills and machine types (training provided).

Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
