Job summary

TE Connectivity Ltd. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, program and operate 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machines in our regional machine shop. You will install tooling, verify first article dimensions and ensure compliance with engineering drawings and quality procedures.

You'll participate in continuous improvement, maintain high standards of housekeeping, and follow EHS policies. Previous experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol or Citizen controls is desirable, and a time-served apprenticeship in

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship with C&G/NVQ or equivalent in mechanical engineering discipline.
• Experience setting and operating 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machine tools.
• Experience alternating early/late shifts with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol or Citizen controls is desirable.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use measurement equipment.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set-up a range of 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machine tools by installing and adjusting work holding devices, tooling, spindle liners and bar feeders.
• Operate CNC machines to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
• Verify programs and settings using measuring equipment on first articles and apply adjustments.
• Ensure component compliance with drawings and quality procedures.
• Record daily operations and provide OEE results.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the TEOA site plan.
• Maintain time standards and daily housekeeping; adhere to EHS policies.
• Carry out ad-hoc tasks and multi-skill as required by the business.

Job description

TE Connectivity's CNC Machinists are responsible for the setup, optimisation, and operation of various CNC Machines within the machine shop. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH\u0026S policies and procedures.,

• Set-up a range of 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machine tools by installing and adjusting work holding devices, tooling, spindle liners and bar feeders.
• Operate a range of 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machine tools, ensuring that machine down time is minimised.
• Verify programs and settings using a range of measuring equipment on first articles and apply appropriate adjustments and program modifications.
• Ensure component compliance in accordance with engineering drawings and quality procedures using a range of inspection equipment.
• Record daily operations on machine tools and provide operational equipment effectiveness (OEE) results daily.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the department. Improving processes and applying tools and methods from the TEOA site plan.
• Maintain and improve time standards.
• Ensure that daily maintenance is carried out as required.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
• Observe health and safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and government legislation.
• Adhere to company procedure at all times.
• To support with any other ad-hoc tasks where required
• To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the business within Production or elsewhere as may be required. Time served apprentice with C\u0026G/NVQ or equivalent in mechanical engineering discipline.
