Job summary

TE Connectivity's CNC Machinists prepare, set, operate and optimise CNC milling processes to produce high-precision components in a quality-focused environment.

This role covers setting up Haas, Matsuura and FANUC Robodrill centres, performing first-off inspections, and contributing to Lean improvements while adhering to EHS policies. The position also involves rotating swing shifts with a market-leading base salary and shift premium.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' CNC machining experience in a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with Fanuc controls.
  • Proven experience setting and operating Haas, Matsuura and FANUC Robodrill machining centres.
  • CNC programming experience desirable.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, fixture design and process control.
  • Proficient in the use of inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Experience working within an ISO9001 or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure compliance with TE policies and procedures, including EHS and safety-first practices.
  • Demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and ability to multi-skill.

Responsibilities

  • Set, operate and programme CNC milling machines.
  • Manufacture precision machined components to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Set up and operate Haas, Matsuura and FANUC Robodrill machining centres.
  • Make programme and tooling adjustments to optimise machining performance and product quality.
  • Perform first-off, in-process and final inspections using measurement equipment.
  • Ensure components meet specification requirements and quality standards.
  • Record daily operations and contribute to OEE tracking.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing and TE OA methodologies.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality and Production to improve efficiency and throughput.
  • Maintain machine condition through daily maintenance and housekeeping.

Job description

TE Connectivity's CNC Machinists prepare, set, operate and optimise CNC machining processes used in the manufacture of high-precision components. Working within a quality-focused manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for producing complex machined parts on CNC milling centres whilst ensuring compliance with customer, engineering and quality requirements.

Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organisation of the work area while following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

This role operates on a rotating swing-shift pattern which attracts a shift premium in addition to a market-leading base salary.

Week 1 Monday to Thursday: 06:00 – 14:00, Friday: 08:00 – 13:00

Week 2 Monday to Thursday: 14:00 – 22:00 Friday: 13:00 – 20:00

About The Role
  • Set, operate and programme CNC milling machines.
  • Manufacture precision machined components to engineering drawings and customer specifications.

  • Record daily operations and contribute to Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) tracking.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing and TEOA methodologies.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Production teams to improve efficiency, quality and throughput.
  • Maintain machine condition through daily maintenance and housekeeping activities.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Support ad-hoc tasks and reasonable business requirements within Production and related functions.
What Your Background Should Look Like
  • Minimum of 5 years' CNC machining experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with Fanuc controls.
  • Proven experience setting and operating Haas, Matsuura and FANUC Robodrill machining centres.
