Job summary

Mane Contract Services seeks a skilled CNC Turner/Setter Operator to program and run CNC lathes, producing precision parts from exotic materials. The role reports to the Machine Shop Manager and involves setting tools, speeds, and feeds, plus in-process inspection to ensure tight tolerances.

Based initially at the West Byfleet machine shop for 4–6 months, then relocation to Send, Woking. Aerospace/high-precision environments preferred; PPE required in a workshop setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Turner/CNC Setter Operator.
• Strong CNC lathe setting and operating experience.
• Experience machining exotic materials and difficult alloys.
• Ability to manufacture complex components to very tight tolerances.
• Strong understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds and machining strategies.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience carrying out inspection and quality checks with precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision components.
• Manufacture parts to tight tolerances using exotic materials.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Select cutting tools, speeds and feeds for processes.
• Carry out in-process inspection with precision instruments.
• Ensure components meet quality standards and document results.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust machines as needed.
• Maintain consistent production standards and PPE compliance.
